Thebe Ikalafeng BSc. MBA. CM (SA) has been recognised as one of the country’s top 10 thinkers in marketing along with Pick 'n' Pay founder Raymond Ackerman, Virgin founder Richard Branson and former South African State President, Nelson Mandela in a survey by Markinor and dubbed “Mr. Brand” by the Mail and Guardian.
He has been awarded an Institute of Marketing Management Medal for leading NIKE South Africa to the IMM “Marketing Organisation of the Year” Roll of Honour, IMM Chartered Marketer Award for Community Marketing and over 75 local and international awards in marketing and communications. He has also been awarded the Marquette University American Marketing Association Award for Marketing Excellence.
A prolific writer, Ikalafeng is recognized as one of the country's leading thought leaders and branding gurus, and writes on personal development, marketing and branding.
He is founder of The Brand Leadership Group and a non-executive director of Mercantile Bank Holdings and Foodcorp Holdings, and a member of Durban University of Technology council, Vega School of Brand Communications advisory board, and the Sunday Times Marketing Excellence council. He has been appointed to all notable industry boards, and judged or chaired key industry awards.
A sought-after speaker internationally, he has addressed diverse audiences across markets and industries internationally.
