The Belbin GetSet report

The Belbin GetSet report is generated after the young person has completed the Self-Perception Inventory, and again after they have received feedback from others.

It highlights their Team Role strengths, and gives advice on how to use these both now, and in the future.

The report can be edited online,  saved and printed.

Parts of the reports are there for the young person to reflect and think about how their Team Role behaviours can be used, and how best to project them when looking to take the leap in to the next stage of their lives.

How You See Yourself

This first main page of The Belbin GetSet report is based on the Self-Perception only.

It shows the percentile scores for each of the 9 Belbin Team Roles and highlights the top two Team Role strengths.

Comparing Self and Observer Perceptions

This next page is based on the Self Perception and feedback from others.

It highlights the differences between the strengths we think we have and the strengths that others see. It also highlights the area of agreement between the chosen observers.

As Belbin measures what we do, not who we are, this is a great starting point to discuss how we 'show up' to different people.

The following page asks the question: 'Do you agree? Can you think of a situation where people may have seen these behaviours?'

This page encourages reflection on why different people see and value different strengths.

How To Handle Interviews

Looking at the combination of your top 4 Team Roles, this page indicates the working styles that you may prefer and how to articulate these when in an interview.

The following page asks you to reflect on your Belbin GetSet report and to write a brief personal summary that could be used as part of a UCAS or Apprenticeship process, or when entering the world of work.

Appendix I

If you have received feedback from others, this shows how they saw your Team Role behaviours.

This is displayed in a ranked order, from top to bottom Team Role. It doesn't show how much of each Team Role behaviour they see, but the order in which they see them.

This is useful when discussing that different people may see different strengths depending on the relationship and the situation

For example, a teacher may see different behaviours than a friend or family member.

Appendix II

This final page of the report shows all of the words that your chosen observers could have ticked to describe you.

It gives a summary of how many times each word was ticked.

This can be used as a starting point for self-development - which words would you like higher up, and which lower down? How might you achieve this?
