Belbin is a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant.

By signing, Belbin recognises the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business and country, and we will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant.

What is the Armed Forces Covenant?

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.

It is a pledge that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives.

The Covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families, and is fulfilled by the different groups that have committed to making a difference.

How Belbin can help the career transfer process

Fenlan Miller spent 3 months at Belbin HQ on secondment from Sabre (Belbin Australia) in 2023. Back home in Australia, he has been a platoon commander in the army reserves infantry and has experience of using Belbin within corporate team leadership events for government defence groups.

Based on his experience he explains how Belbin is well placed to support the career transfer process for the military community. Belbin provides a common language that can help bridge the gap between military language and skill-sets, and identify and communicate the civilian skills that employers in the civilian market are seeking.

"By framing our strengths and associated weaknesses in the language of Belbin's nine clusters of human behaviour, service-related skillsets can be effectively and simply translated to 'civilian speak'." - Fenlan Miller
