On Thursday 4th June, Dr Meredith Belbin would have celebrated his 100th birthday.

Meredith is best known for his pioneering research and thinking on teamwork. The Belbin Team Role framework has become a global language for collaboration, helping teams understand themselves, value differences, and work together more effectively.

To mark and celebrate Meredith’s birthday and acknowledge his legacy, we invite you to join us on Thursday 4th June.

If you are Belbin Accredited, we encourage you to share your certificate or logo on LinkedIn, along with a short note about the impact Belbin Team Roles has had on your teams. Please include #BelbinDay26 so we can share them with the wider community.

We will also be hosting two fireside chats to share and discuss the impact that Belbin – both the man and the framework – have had on teams and organisations worldwide.

We hope you can join us.

Morning Fireside Chat – 11am BST

Please join us at 11:00 BST to hear how four Belbin practitioners have used Belbin and the impact it has had on their teams and organisations. This session will be facilitated and chaired by Jo Keeler, and she will be joined by:

She will be sharing insights from this practice at the Graduate Futures Institute conference in July 2026 in Nottingham.

Rob Garner | UK Managing Partner | ClarusBlue Consulting Limited

Rob is an expert business transformation leader dedicated to helping people and organisations thrive. He began his career in the global automotive industry, adopting "The Toyota Way" philosophy of continuous improvement and people-first leadership. Rob later scaled these principles across diverse environments – first by founding a successful tech consulting firm, and then by guiding global banking institutions through major cultural and operational shifts. Throughout his career, his core focus has remained building high-performing teams, streamlining systems and developing outstanding leaders.

"Meredith showed us the importance of cherishing the fact that people are gloriously different, and it is those differences, not their similarities, that make a team succeed. He also gave us permission. Permission to be ourselves. Permission to say you don't have to be good at everything. Just be really good at being you."

"I think we’ve always been striving to find a way of helping people to work together. When people work in effective combinations, they achieve so much more than when they’re working alone. But to do that we need a language and it needs to be a language which is shared and enables people to communicate with each other. That’s what we’re after."
